BIM methods for the integration of planning and operation

Digitalisation in construction and building technology is opening up new potential. Within the research project "Energie.Digital", RWTH Aachen University, Fraunhofer ISE and Viega GmbH & Co. KG are developing a consistent and systematic method for linking and integrating the domains of technical building equipment, building automation, and building operation using Building Information Modelling (BIM). To this end, a consistent representation of the energy-relevant properties of the building services will be developed, which contains performance indicators and operational attributes in addition to system-related product data. This digital model can then be used for monitoring and operational management, for example at Viega World in Attendorn (currently under construction), to implement energy-related operational optimisation or to visualise operational data in real time using the resultimng digital twin.
