The Institute of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building (E3D) is a member of the ZIM network Soil2Heat „Oberflächennahste Geothermie und Kalte Nahwärme 4.0” and regularly participates in the network meetings. In addition to an intensive exchange with small and medium-sized enterprises as well as other research institutions, the goal of this network is to integrate shallow geothermal energy and cold local heating networks as technologies in future energy concepts and to develop practice-oriented products.

On 05.11.2020 the second network meeting of phase 2 with network partners from Austria took place as an online meeting. In phase 2, the ZIM network will be expanded to include new partners from Austria. The aim is an international exchange, the consolidation of knowledge from Germany and Austria regarding shallow geothermal energy and practice-oriented solutions as well as the aggregation of new projects with Austrian participation.
