Test facility inauguration
On November 14, 2018, the Institute of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building E3D and the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate (EBC) inaugurated the new test facility for Energy Efficient Construction on the Melaten Campus in the immediate vicinity of the existing E.ON test facility. The Faculties of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering have joined forces to construct the test facility in order to expand their interdisciplinary research and pool their expertise.During the event, the official handover of the keys by the department 10 took place after greetings of the hosts Prof. van Treeck and Prof. Müller, the Rector Prof. Rüdiger, the Dean of the Faculty 3 Prof. Hegger and the Dean of the Faculty 4 Prof. Feldhusen. The two institutes then gave an overview of the planned installations.In the afternoon, the event was followed by the scientific symposium "Thermal Comfort", which was organised by the two institutes with the support of the Heinz-Trox Foundation. The day ended with the opportunity to visit the existing test facilities.
