Description:
There are more than 20 international research groups involved in the Annex 66 Project, with different approaches towards the modeling of user behavior. The aim of the Annex Project is to establish an international platform for cooperation in the scope of user behavior modeling, in order to integrate user behavior models in dynamic simulation methods and to quantify the impact of user behavior on the energy consumption of buildings. The project is divided into five subtasks: (A) occupant movement and presence models, (B) occupant action models in residential buildings, (C) occupant action models in commercial buildings, (D) integration of occupant behavior models with current building energy modeling programs, (E) applications in building design and operations.
In the scope of the national BMWi-funded project ValMoNuI, the RWTH Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate (EBC) and the Institute for Energy Efficient and Sustainable Building (E3D) are members of the Annex 66 Project. The project’s leading Co-Operating Agents are the scientists Da Yan (Tsinghua University, China) and Tianzhen Hong (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA).
