Description:
Thanks to a travel grant requested by the RWTH E.ON Energy Research Center, the Institutes for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate (EBC), for Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building (E3D), and for Building Technology (GBT) were able to invite the internationally renowned scientist Professor Shin-ichi Tanabe (Waseda University of Tokyo, Japan) for a one-day workshop at RWTH Aachen in 2015 – as a means to strengthen international cooperation in the field of thermal comfort and building energy technology.
Prof. Shin-ichi Tanabe – accompanied by a group of Japanese Master and PhD-students – was welcomed at the E.ON ERC on May 21, 2015. In an interdisciplinary workshop, the professors and academic staff discussed the topic “People – Buildings – Technology” with the guests. Key issues were the current research on (indoor) thermal comfort, smart energy systems of the future, as well as trends on the German and Japanese markets.
