Description:

From the perspective of product manufacturers, the introduction of digital planning methods leads to the questions of how, regarding the fields of energy and mobility on the level of buildings and urban quarters, digital methods can be of use in the planning and service process in future; which interfaces must be considered in practical cooperation; what skills employees need to have – and to considerations regarding the related legal issues.

The study served to shape out a summary overview of available and usual digital information and simulation models and methods on the level of buildings and urban quarters. This includes distribution networks and any related planning tools, interfaces, and cooperative forms of cooperation in the fields of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information systems (GIS).
