SimQuality – Development of quality standards for building and quarter energy performance simulation as a planning tool
The research project SimQuality (FKZ 03ET1570B) focuses on the application of simulation methods in planning practice, research and teaching, in the context of building and system performance simulation as well as building physics. Requirements for the functionality and quality of simulation applications are developed and evaluated based on existing simulation programs. The objective of this project is to deduct new quality standards for planning tools in the field of efficient energy supply, and thus to support a better comparability and traceability of the simulation results as well as a development towards transparency and standardization in the field of building, system and quarter simulation. Validated reference solutions are developed for a variety of use cases and provided for planning practioners.
Nowadays computer-aided planning tools are used by many engineers and specialists. In the project SimQuality, planning tools from the fields of building physics, building energy concept planning and system planning are assigned. The emphasis is on the area of thermal and hygrothermal component and building simulation.
SimQuality pursues the goal of integrating the simulation programs into the planning process. Here independent test methods are developed which are suitable to improve the planning and legal certainty for software developers and practical users.
