On 9th December 2022 the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) has handed over the 2nd issue of the Standardization Roadmap AI to Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister Robert Habeck at the Digital Summit 2022. As part of the Federal Government’s AI strategy, more than 570 professionals have identified over 100 standardization requirements and six interdisciplinary recommendations. On the part of the Institute of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building (E3D), Maximilian Schildt was responsible as co-leader of the new focus group Energy and Environment. The use cases as well as standardization requirements developed herein clearly refer to the issues of energy efficiency and climate protection in the building sector.

The German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and the German Commission for Electrotechnical, Electronic, and Information Technologies of DIN and VDE had been assigned by the Federal Ministry for Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) to develop this Roadmap. The German and English translation of the summary and full version are available for download here.
