FLEX4FACT Consortium Meeting in Trondheim, Norway
The consortium meeting of the EU funded research project FLEX4FACT took place at the hosts SINTEF Manufacturing in Trondheim on June 8th and 9th, 2023. RWTH Aachen University was represented by Kai Derzsi from the EBC and Sonja Herzogenrath from the E3D.
At the consortium meeting, the research and practice partners presented the current project progress and the developments at the industrial use case sites.
Within the scope of the FLEX4FACT project, energy flexibility potentials of the industry sector are being identified and exploited for load shifting. Therefore, production processes are being digitized and methods for planning of local energy systems, demand side management and energy flow oriented optimized production scheduling are being developed. The solutions will be integrated into a modular digital platform and demonstrated on the industrial use case sites of different company size, lines of business and geographical boundary conditions. The project involves 23 partners from research and industry from four European countries.
The RWTH institutes EBC and E3D contribute to the analysis of synergies between production processes and building energy load by modelling and simulating building energy systems in the industrial context.
We would like to thank the FLEX4FACT consortium for the good cooperation and constructive exchange during the event. We are looking forward to further collaboration within the project.
